Measure of Love

The more joy and beauty there is, the better
But, it seems, the less of your love there is, the better
You love exists between you and me
To know the quality of love
We can only measure the distance between us
If the distance is great, then the degree of love is great;
If the distance is small, the degree of love is small
So small love makes me smile, great love makes me cry

Who says when a person goes away,
That love also goes far
If your absence makes love distant,
What is this crying day after day if not love?

Secrets? secrets, you say what kind of secrets would I have?
I tried to keep a secret from you, but it couldn't be guarded
Through my tears my secret entered your eyes
Through my breath my secret entered your ears
Through my beating heart, my secret entered your touch
Another secret became a splinter of red heart and entered your dreams
There is one last secret
This secret is like soundless echo and cannot be expressed.

I am not a great writer. I don't have blog and you don't know me at all.
I do always have answer for what you write. You keep writing beautiful poems of loss and yearning. In response, I will always write how beautiful life is with love and without love.

I heard the Master's sermon
"Don't bound to chain of love and suffer.
Cut the ties and your mind will find joy"
that Master is quite the fool
To be bound with ties of lvoe is painful, but to cut them is more
painful than death
In the tight bond of love's ties lies its unbinding
Thus great liberation lies in bondage
My love, I feared the ties that bind one to you might be weak,
So I've doubled the strands of my love.

When I had you, I wasn't devoted
My piety greater than my love
My caution outran my joy
Moreover, being cold in nature
and wounded by poverty
I didn't ease you in illness
Now that you are gone
tears of regret are greater than the distance of separation.

It is not for nothing that I love you
Others love my rosy complexion, but you love my grey hari
It is not for nothing that I long for you
Others love my smile, but you love my tears
It is not for nothing that I wait for you
Others love my vigor, but you love my death

Waheguru.

someone who truely has loved from the depths of their heart. The poem second from last is particularly touching.

I hope you find peace anonymous - for the burden of true love is a difficult one to carry alone.

regards.

Love is never a burden. Even sorrow as a result of love is unmasked joy. I am in peace only because of love.

The heart's longing for beloved is the pain of seperation. The primal cry of the soul draws the loved back to the arms of the beloved.
